We arrived at Seoulful Spring Market a little before they were due to officially open their doors to the public, and were taken aback by how packed it already was. Hordes of people gathered at just about every booth within the space, eager to check out their wares.

We, on the other hand, immediately made a beeline for the food section and spoiled ourselves silly with a variety of delectable eats, drinks and desserts.

Seoulful Spring Market - Corndog

I couldn’t help but gravitate towards one of my favourite Korean street snacks of all time: the K-Corn Dog (S$5.50).

This super-sized snack consists of pork sausage and a huge block of mozzarella cheese battered and deep-fried before it’s topped with sugar, ketchup and mustard. The product was quite possibly the crunchiest corndog I’d ever come across, complete with satisfying cheese pulls from the melted mozzarella within.

Seoulful Spring Market - Korean Fried Chicken

Next up on our roster was the Dak Gang Jeong (S$13.90), better known as the perennial favourite Korean fried chicken. These crispy chicken chunks were slathered in either of 2 delicious sauces: Soy and Sweet & Spicy. Needless to say, we enjoyed them thoroughly. Plus points for the generous portion, too!

Another interesting find was the Bulgogi Fries (S$14.90), which stars the unique combination of well-marinated bulgogi and piquant salsa. You might not immediately love its sweet-tangy flavour profile, but I promise it’ll grow on you.

Other snacks you can feast on include Cup Tteokbokki (S$4.50) and Chicken Skewers (S$6.50 for 1 piece) in both Soy and Sweet & Spicy flavours.

And now, the desserts. Behold, the K-Cup Dessert (S$8.90)AKA any sweet tooth’s dream. These dessert cups come in 4 flavours: Strawberry, Injeolmi, Matcha and Tiramisu each featuring layer upon layer of cream, toppings and moist cake.

My favourite of the lot was the Strawberry one — this glorious creation tasted just like a delightful strawberry shortcake in a cup. Another stand-out was the creamy and nutty Injeolmi, which I (a soybean hater) surprisingly enjoyed.

Seoulful Spring Market - Hotteok & Cu Boong

You must try the Hotteok (S$3.50) by mochi donut specialist, Donas8. This traditional fried Korean pancake, stuffed with chopped peanuts and a gooey cinnamon sugar filling, was crispy on the outside and perfectly chewy on the inside.

Alternatively, go for the Cu-Boong (S$5.90) — a crispy sugar-glazed croissant pressed in the shape of a fish. It reminded me of the sugar donuts I so loved in my childhood.

Finally, wash it all down with a Spring Matcha Latte (S$6.50)K-Multi Grain Drink (S$4.90) or Cup-Fruit Punch (S$5.50).

After you’re done feasting, make time for exercise with some retail therapy. Seoulful Spring Market is host to a plethora of booths manned by Korean sellers who’ve flown in specially for the event.

Expect to see cute knick-knacks and racks of trendy Y2K clothing, like in this corner that caught my eye; I felt like I wandered into a hip boutique along the streets of Hongdae!

There are plenty of other lifestyle products as well, including bags, jewellery, press-on nails and even baby clothes. You’ll need a whole afternoon to browse through it all.

There’s only so much I can write about the Seoulful Spring Market, and so much more that you should check out yourself. Do hurry down as soon as you can, though, as it’s sure going to be packed this weekend.
